Improvements to Atmosphere

We've made a series of practical improvements to Atmosphere to give customers clearer visibility, better control, and stronger privacy protections

James Gemmell, March 02, 2026

You'll now see a new "Logs" navigation item under your subscription in the customer portal. This section provides DNS query logging, giving you real-time visibility into the domains being requested on your service and how Atmosphere is handling them.

So what's new?

Here's the summary what's new with Atmosphere DNS query logging.

Full network visibility

The new Top Domains, Activity Over Time, and Latency Over Time graphs provide a simple overview of what your network is querying. This makes it easier to identify unusual device behaviour or unexpected traffic being handled by the sinkhole.

Actionable blocking feedback

The Recently Blocked table shows which domains were blocked, when the block occurred, and the reason. If a legitimate service is affected, domains can be allowed directly from the same page.

Allow actions on blocked domains

Domain search now supports wildcard queries (for example, *.ads.com). This allows more detailed auditing of advertising, telemetry, or malicious traffic patterns across your logs.

Privacy by design

Privacy Mode allows customers to disable individual domain logging and retain only aggregate statistics. This is designed for shared households where detailed logging may not be appropriate.

A Privacy Consent Drawer with a mandatory acknowledgement ensures customers understand what data is collected before enabling logging.

Security controls

All Atmosphere data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

These updates are focused on clarity, control, and responsible handling of network data. Head on over to your customer portal and let us know what you think.
